CAKE CARE INFORMATION

All of my cakes are made fresh to order, without any preservatives. Please follow the information provided below so that your cake stays at it's absolute best! Once the cake has left my care, I am no longer responsible for any damages that occur, in transit or within your home. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Pick up/Transport

Make sure to keep your cake level and carry it from underneath. Do not pick it up by the sides as the box will bend and could cause damage to your cake.

Cakes should be transported on a completely flat surface, such as the boot, or in the foot well of your car, with the air conditioning on if possible. I do not recommend having someone hold the cake on their lap. Be sure to drive carefully! Cakes can take hours to make – and whilst every effort will be made to make sure that your cake is super sturdy, I cannot accept liability for any loss or damages if the cake has not been transported as per my instructions. After collection, you should be transporting your cake directly to it's destination.

Storage

All of my cakes are supplied in suitable lidded storage boxes. Both buttercream and fondant cakes should be kept in a cool room, and away from direct sunlight. Cakes and heat do not mix! If it is a particularly hot day, you can store a buttercream cake in the fridge – however, only do so if you fear inevitable damage from heat. Make sure you remove the cake and place in a well ventilated room for 1hr before serving so it can come back up to room temperature. Fondant cakes should never be refrigerated as the moisture in your fridge can cause damage to the fondant.

Serving/Shelf Life

Before serving, be sure to remove all dowels, wires and support materials (if any). Toothpicks are often used for support in fondant figures, and as such, extra care should be taken with children. Once the cake has been cut, the exposed cake should be covered to prevent it from drying out.

Your cake should be consumed within 3-5 days of your collection/delivery date. Cupcakes are best consumed within 24hrs, and Giant Cookies within 24-48hrs. If you have any leftovers, you can freeze your cake for up to 3-4 months. Make sure it is wrapped in cling film before freezing, and left to defrost fully before consuming.

Allergies

A list of allergy ingredients will be supplied with your cake. Please note that I bake in my family kitchen, and whilst every effort will be taken to ensure that your cake contains only the ingredients listed on your 'Ingredients List', I cannot guarantee that any of my products will be completely free of allergy ingredients. We are not a nut free home.

Finally, and most importantly – ENJOY YOUR CAKE!
